Selvaraghavan's long-awaited Aayirathil Oruvan will finally come as a Pongal release. The film stars Karthi, Reema Sen and Andreah in the lead roles. The songs composed by G.V. Prakash and released under the Sony music label are ruling the music charts since their star-studded launch earlier this year. The director hopes the same popularity for the trailer launch too, which is scheduled for December 13.

Produced by R. Raveendran of Dream Valley Films, Aayirathil Oruvan is said to be made on the lines of Hollywood's The Mummy, and falls under the period-fantasy genre. The film's release has been delayed by post production work which was done in London. But now, the entire post production work has been completed and the movie is ready for release. The film's shooting, completed in over 200 days and involving several junior artistes, was made with a total cost of 32 crores. The film will be a tough competitor to other films which release for Pongal.
